Day of Thunder

Today I  am sharing an amazing day out.

Our boys bought Hubby a Stunt experience with “Paul Swift” for his Birthday. 

It was amazing. We took some awesome videos too of Hubby doing J-turns, 

drifting and Handbrake turns into a parallel parking between two cars. 

What an experience.

I created the double page layout to include some of the photos we took and the

Cars that were used, including the Mustang Hubby got to race around in.

Here are the products I used:

Die cut gears, sign post and mesh (cardstock & metal dies)

Stencils (Andy Skinner-Industrial Elements

Lindys Magicals and Starburst sprays

Ephemera – home printed (Pinterest)

Chipboard embellishments

Die cut envelope (patterned paper)

Mixed media Arty stones – Small and Medium (Imagination crafts)

Black Gesso

White Gesso

Alchemy wax – Jade & Bronze (Imagination crafts)

Dimensional Glaze (mod podge)

Resin gears and frame

Tear drop sponge

Clear gesso

Liquid pearls – Dark chocolate

Matte gel - clear

Steps to complete:

Paint paper with clear gesso to seal it. Make sure it is dry.

Sprinkle different colour Magicals on page and spritz with water. Use a brush to

spread the inks if you want. Once the page is dry, use black gesso and apply

through the stencil with a sponge.

I placed the photos on the page to see where I wanted them and to ensure I had

enough stenciling and can be seen. I fussy cut my printed ephemera and chalked

the edges. 

 I glued down the photos using strips of carton to lift them from the page.

I glued down my die cuts, ephemera and resins. I used matte gel and mixed it with

the artsy stones and stuck them down around the photos and die cuts.

When the gel was dry, I used a bit of the alchemy wax with a dab of water (slightly

dilute it to make it easier to paint – I love the shimmer of this wax) to colour the

artsy stones. 

I mixed a little of the Starburst whale watch blue spray with a little water to dilute

the colour and paint it around the edges of the photos and embellishments to give

a little shadow behind.

Lastly, I covered the photos and added splatters of Black Gesso. When this was dry

I dry brushed some white Gesso over some of the embellishment to highlight some

of the texture.

And Wallah … All done
