You are Stronger than You think

 Hello Crafty Gladiators

I hope you are all well and finding inspiration in your day.

Today I am sharing a double journal page with you using Dye ink sprays and

aqua crayons

I adhered printed images as a background with strips of fine netting. I then prepped the
pages with Gesso and used foam paste through the "Radar" and "Script" stencil.

Once the foam paste was dry, I coated the pages and stencilling with Mod Podge to seal
them which allows the crayons and inks to flow more easily - let it dry properly.

Using green crayon I rubbed a little colour around the edges of the pages and smeared it
towards the centre with my fingers. You can add a little water to make it easier to spread.

I then used Brown dye ink spray at the top of the pages to colour and run down the pages.
You can use a wet wipe to lift some of the colour or remove drips from the centre focal
point.

I added more white Gesso with my fingers to the central focal point of the pages to lighten
it more.

I inked the edges of the pages to create a framed look using Memento black ink pad
and dauber. While inking the edges of the page, I brushed some black ink over some
parts of the stencilled paste for a grunge effect. I splattered black ink on the pages.

I cut out the printed phrase and the butterfly and inked the edges and then adhered them
onto the page.

Using a black aqua pencil, I created a shadow around the words.

Friday night Fun - Acrylic ink : Be what you Do journal page

 Hello happy crafters

I hope you are well and having fun.

Today I am sharing a quick Friday night Fun journal page.

I just got new acrylic inks and I wanted to give them a try.

I prepped my page with #PEBEO white Gesso and let dry.

I used the dropper lid to place short thin lines down the page +- 5 colours

I then added water with a spritzer and let the ink run up and down the page
until I was happy with the length and cover.

I stamped randomly on the page and used a baby wipe to lift the black ink
slightly to create a faded background image.

I used white paint and brayer to roll over the inks to create a washed effect.

I added circles on the page with white paint and a Pritt lid.

Next I added splatters with Blue acrylic ink (I added a little water to thin it out)

I then adhered my quote and butterfly and used aqua black pencil to create a
shadow around it.

I hope you enjoyed the post and thank you for stopping by

Have an awesome weekend

Be a Voice not an Echo

 Hello Lovelies

Thank you for popping over to visit and share my latest creation with me.

Today I am sharing a journal page I created with Acrylic ink and a few circle stencils.

First I glued down strips of different scrap papers. I then used Gesso to prep my page.
Once this was all dry, I used 3 different types of circle stencils to create the different sizes
and random placement. You can use texture/modelling or crackle paste.

(I use "One strike filler" by Everbuild for filling cracks - it is light and foamy and dries
quickly. It is also waterproof and can be sanded - pretty affordable on amazon.co.uk)
I love working with it and if it is a big project I am working on, I mix a little mod podge
matt with it to dry and harden even more.

Once the paste is dry, I used acrylic inks to colour the top and bottom of the pages.
these inks are so pigmented that a little drop goes a long way. I start with the lighter colours
and finish with the darker ones.

I started with the yellow ink,  and randomly place two or three drops of ink and add some
water with the spritzer.
I let it run across the page and then down, I dry the ink with the heat gun to ensure it is set
(it is permanent once dry) - If you need to remove some of the ink as it is highly pigmented
you can use a baby wipe to lift some of the colour before drying or spray with more water.

I then added Transparent Burnt Sienna acrylic ink and then Black acrylic ink, using the
method above.

Once I was happy with the colours and layout and the inks were dry, I used a brayer and
white paint to roll over the paste to enhance the areas that were higher and give a more
grungy effect.

I then added my beautiful Butterfly and my quote.
I inked around the edges of the page with Black acrylic ink as I like to frame my pages
like this. I think it just completes it.

Here are a few close ups:

I hope you feel inspired to go and create and experiment in your Art Journal.

Take care and see ya soon
